Simple Topping
Simple Topping
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup honey
½ cup walnuts or pecans
Directions:
At Home: Combine first five ingredients in a ziplock plastic bag. Combine honey, oil,
and vanilla in a plastic bottle. Put the bottle in another ziplock plastic bag to prevent
spills. Carry pineapple separately. In a lidded container, combine butter, honey, and
nuts for the topping.
In Camp: Add oil mixture to the dry ingredients with ⅓ cup of water. Mix well. Place
pineapple rings, whole or broken into small pieces, in an oiled 7–8-inch pan. Pour
topping mixture over the pineapple, then pour batter over that. Cover tightly, and bake
at low heat, using a heat diffuser if necessary, for 20–25 minutes, or until cake is
springy to the touch.
