Egg Foo Yung with Chinese Gravy
Ingredients:
Egg Foo Yung:
5 eggs
1/2 cup shredded scallions
1 cup bean sprouts, drained well if canned
Oil, for frying
Chinese Gravy:
1 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon MSG (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with a little water
Salt
Pepper
Directions:
1. Mix the eggs, scallions and bean sprouts and fry in patties.
2. For the gravy, cook the broth, sugar, soy sauce, MSG, cornstarch mixture, salt and pepper over low heat until thick.
3. Smother the patties with the gravy.
