Alaska Halibut Chowder Recipe
Ingredients:
fish, halibut, greenland, raw
onions, raw
peppers, sweet, green, raw
celery, raw
carrots, raw
butter, without salt
soup, chicken broth or bouillon, dry
salt, table
spices, pepper, black
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
cheese, cheddar
parsley, fresh
Directions:
Remove skin and bones from halibut; cut into bite-sized pcs.
Saute/fry vegetables in 3 Tbsp.
butter.
Add in halibut, chicken broth, salt and pepper.
Simmer, covered for 5 min.
Add in lowfat milk and heat gently.
Combine remaining 3 Tbsp.
butter with flour and add in to chowder.
Cook and stir till slightly thickened.
Add in cheese; cook and stir over low heat till cheese melts.
Sprinkle with parsley.
This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
