Classic Swiss Steak
Classic Swiss Steak
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil
2 pounds free-range, organic, grass fed beef chuck, cut into 3-inch chunks
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon garlic
2 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes with the juice
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon thyme
2 tablespoons molasses
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Brown the meat and transfer it to a slow
cooker. Sauté the onion, celery and garlic in the same pan until tender. Transfer
to the slow cooker as well.
Add the remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on low until tender,
6-8 hours.
Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Buffalo Chili
Serves 6
Rich and meaty, this will be one of your go-to recipes when you want a hot bowl
of comfort on a cold night. Even better the next day, you’ll be sorry when this is
gone. In fact, it’s best to plan a day ahead, as the flavors only get better as they
meld. Either way, it’s still a fantastic and filling meal you’ll make time and time
again.
