Grilled Teriyaki Fish with Papaya Sauce
Grilled Teriyaki Fish with Papaya Sauce
Serves 4
Ingredients:
4 fish steaks
Marinade:
1/2 cup bottled teriyaki marinade and sauce
2 tablespoons papaya nectar
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Nonstick cooking spray
Sauce:
1/3 cup papaya nectar
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts or toasted almonds
Directions:
1. Lay the fish in a single layer in a large shallow pan. Blend the teriyaki sauce, nectar, cilantro and oil and pour over, turning to coat.
2. Marinate 45 minutes, turning occasionally.
3. Spray the grill rack and set 4-6 inches above hot coals. Grill the fish 3 minutes per side, until it flakes easily. Keep warm.
4. Cook the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring, until boiling and slightly thickened.
5. Spoon over the fish and sprinkle with the nuts.
