Yummy Whole Wheat Carrot Cake

Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
nuts, walnuts, english
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
spices, cinnamon, ground
spices, nutmeg, ground
salt, table
applesauce, canned, unsweetened, without added ascorbic acid (includes usda commodity)
oil, canola
sugars, brown
egg substitute, powder
carrots, raw
orange juice, raw

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Coat 13 x 9 baking pan with non-stick spray.
In a medium bowl combine the flour, walnuts, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
Mix well.
In a large bbowl combine the applesauce, oil, brown sugar, egg substitute, carrots and orange rind.
Mix well.
Add the flour mixture to the applesauce mixture and stir until well-combined.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted int the center comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack.
