Quintessentially Southern. Eaten via numerous a Scarlett awaiting her Rhett.
12 mint leaves upon stem
6 mint leaves upon stem
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons water
2 1/2 ounces 86- or 100-evidence bourbon
1. Tear the 12 mint leaves partly although leaving them upon the stem.
2. Space them within just a silver julep mug or 12-ounce glass with sugar and water.
3. Clutter or stir right until sugar is totally dissolved.
4. Fill glass with cracked ice.
5. Include bourbon.
6. Stir until finally ice is partly dissolved.
7. Incorporate even more ice to rim.
8. Stir.
9. Tear the remainder of the mint leaves to launch aroma and incorporate into ice with leaves upon best.
