SCOTTISH BROTH
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter or a lot more-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup leeks (white aspect merely), nicely rinsed and chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon flooring black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Scotch whiskey or chicken broth
- 1 cup pearl barley, rinsed and exhausted
- 1 cup turnip, diced
- Water as expected
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup minced new parsley
Directions:
1. Assemble and measure all ingredients before beginning.
2. Prepare the pan or pot and preheat if the dish requires oven cooking.
3. Combine ingredients in sequence, stirring or layering for even cooking.
4. Cook until the texture and doneness are correct, then adjust seasoning.
5. Plate and serve hot, or chill first if the recipe is served cold.
