Using the Pulp from Juicing
Don’t throw that juicing pulp away!
The pulp from juicing does not have to be wasted. Pulp can be used for making raw
crackers, soups, stews, muffins, veggie burgers, and breads. Pulp can also be added to pet
food or to make pet crackers. Salad dressing may be added to pulp and mixed with a salad
or eaten on its own. If you have a garden, pulp is great for composting. Pulp can be
dehydrated until thoroughly dried, ground into a powder, and used for a wide variety of
dishes that may use savory flours.
If you don’t have enough pulp after just one juicing to make a recipe, place pulp in a
sealed container and store in the refrigerator until the next day when you juice again. Pulp
will last up to three days stored in a closed container and refrigerated.
