Bourbon and Chili Brownies
Bourbon and Chili Brownies
Ingredients:
4 ounces vegan chocolate, roughly chopped
1 stick vegan margarine, softened and cut into little cubes
1 cup sugar
Directions:
Egg replacer for 2 eggs
1⁄ teaspoon vanilla extract

1⁄ cup + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1⁄ teaspoon salt
8
1⁄ teaspoon cinnamon
4
1⁄ teaspoon ancho chili powder

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8" square baking pan.
2. Combine chocolate and margarine in a small, microwavable bowl. Microwave 20
seconds at a time until melted; stir until smooth. (You can also melt the chocolate and
margarine in a small saucepan on the stove.)
3. Transfer chocolate mixture to a large bowl. Add sugar and stir to combine.
4. Add egg replacer and stir until smooth.
5. Add vanilla extract and bourbon, then stir.
6. Add flour, salt, cinnamon, and chili powder. Stir gently until smooth.
7. Pour mixture into baking pan and bake 20–25 minutes until just set in the middle and
a toothpick stuck in comes out clean.
8. Let brownies cool before cutting.

Mexican Hot Chocolate
Few things are more comforting on a winter night than a cup of hot
cocoa, except this hot cocoa with a little extra spice.
Serves 4
