SPICY GARLIC BOK CHOY
SPICY GARLIC BOK CHOY
Ingredients:
4 heads baby bok choy
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon Sriracha or hot chili sauce
1 tablespoon gluten-free tamari
Directions:
1
Slice the bok choy in half lengthwise and rinse well. Place in a colander to drip
dry, but you do want to retain a little moisture.
2
If your sesame seeds are raw, toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2 to
3 minutes. Stir constantly and once they begin to brown, remove them from the heat
and set aside.
3
Heat the oil over medium–high heat in a large skillet. Mince the garlic and add to
the oil, stirring for a minute to avoid the garlic burning. Add the bok choy to the pan,
cut-side down, to sear. Flip after 30 seconds to sear the other side.
4
Whisk together the hot sauce and tamari. Pour this over the greens, give them a
quick stir, then cover and let them cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Test the bok choy by
piercing the stem with a fork—if tender, they’re done. Plate and sprinkle with sesame
seeds, then serve.
