Gluten-free Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
xanthan gum,
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
salt, table
shortening, vegetable, household, composite
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
cheese, cheddar
butter, without salt
spices, garlic powder

Directions:
1.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. 2.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, xanthan, baking powder, salt and shortening.
You will have to use your fingers until it all starts lumping together.
3.
Add the milk and cheese and stir.
4.
Drop the biscuits by the spoonful onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
5.
Bake for 10 minutes.
6.
Once out of the oven, coat with butter and garlic powder.
7.
Pop back in the oven for 2-3 minutes.
