Diabetic Friendly Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened
sugars, granulated
Directions:
(I found the recommended 4 Tablespoons cocoa mix per 6 ounces of liquid on most canisters was just too much.)
Heat up your milk or water.
I do it in the microwave for 1 minute or less for milk, then add the cocoa powder and xylitol, stir, then relax and enjoy!
When I use my big coffee mugs, I add more of the cocoa/xylitol mix but you have to do it to your taste.
Xylitol is supposed to be used less because its much sweeter but when I use equal parts, its just perfect.
Mmm.
An alternate version is to use hot water, add cocoa and Xylitol and cream or half-and-half to taste.
The milk seems to make all the difference between yummy and merely passable.
