Portuguese Fried Bread
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
salt, table
sugars, granulated
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
oil, olive, salad or cooking
Directions:
Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Add milk, and mix well.
Divide dough into balls.
Pat out on a flat, floured surface to 1/2 inch thick.
Fry in 1/2 inch hot oil, browning both sides.
Serve warm.
