Colonel Sanders Hotwater Pie Crust
Ingredients:
lard
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
salt, table
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
sugars, granulated
water, bottled, generic
Directions:
Mix the dry ingredients.
Barely melt the lard.
Add the hot water to lard and then pour it into bowl with the dry ingredients.
Mix with a spoon until all the flour is saturated, then when cool enough, work it by hand until thoroughly mixed, working in additional flour as needed.
Roll dough on floured surface until 1/8-1/4 inch thick.
Place into tin pie plate.
Trim dough around edges.
Flute edges.
Pie shells may be frozen, sealed in a plastic bag until ready to use.
