Winter Fruit Compote
Ingredients:
apple juice, canned or bottled, unsweetened, without added ascorbic acid
sugars, brown
water, bottled, generic
lemon juice, raw
apricots, dried, sulfured, uncooked
figs, dried, uncooked
cranberries, dried, sweetened
vanilla extract
spices, ginger, ground
spices, cinnamon, ground
Directions:
Simmer apple juice, brown sugar, water and lemon juice in medium saucepan until sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally.
Add fruit and seasonings.
Simmer additional 5 minutes or until fruit is plump and liquid is slightly thickened,.
Cover.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
