My Grannys Chinese Pork Roast
Ingredients:
pork, fresh, loin, tenderloin, separable lean only, raw
sugars, granulated
salt, table
honey
soy sauce made from soy (tamari)
soup, chicken broth or bouillon, dry
vinegar, distilled
water, bottled, generic
Directions:
Combine sugar, salt, honey, soy sauce, broth, vinegar, and water.
Place roast in a large Ziploc bag and pour sauce over the meat and let marinate for at least 1 hour.
(Ive done it overnight, too.)
Place roast and marinade in a roasting pan and cover.
Bake in a 350 F oven for 2 1/2 -3 hours.
Baste with sauce if you have time.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I dont.
The roast will be a darker brown than youre accustomed to, but thats ok. Take the roast out and allow to rest for a few minutes.
Cut and serve.
I save the drippings and thicken to make a gravy.
Serve with boiled red potatoes.
YUMMY!
