Oriental Salad
Ingredients:
rice vinegar,
sugars, granulated
oil, canola
honey
soy sauce made from soy (tamari)
butter, without salt
nuts, almonds
seeds, sunflower seed kernels, dried
noodles, japanese, soba, dry
cabbage, raw
carrots, raw
onions, spring or scallions (includes tops and bulb), raw
Directions:
Combine vinegar, sugar, oil, honey and soy sauce in small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Cook for 1 minute stirring constantly.
Chill.
Melt butter in large skillet over medium high heat.
Add almonds, sunflower and noodles.
Cook 3 minutes or until lightly toasted, tossing occasionally.
Chill.
Add vinegar mix to noodle mix and let stand 15 minutes.
Add cabbage, carrots and onions, tossing to coat.
