Homemade Chewy Granola Bars
Ingredients:
oats
sugars, brown
wheat germ, crude
butter, without salt
peanut butter, smooth style, without salt
syrup, maple, canadian
honey
spartan, real semi-sweet chocolate baking chips,
nuts, almonds
raisins, seeded
shortening confectionery, coconut (hydrogenated) and or palm kernel (hydrogenated)
Directions:
Mix the oatmeal, brown sugar and wheat germ together.
In a separate bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, syrup, and honey.
Then add to oatmeal mixture.
Add any or all of the optional items to your liking.
Mix well, press well into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 min., or until golden brown.
Let cool for 10 minutes and then cut into bars.
*you can replace 1 cup of the oatmeal with 1/4 cup flax seed, 1/4 cup sesame seed, 1/4 cup sunflower seeds and 1/4 cup bran, or any combination!
