Whole Wheat Shrimp Alfredo
Ingredients:
wheat, durum
butter, without salt
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
cheese, parmesan, hard
salt, table
spices, pepper, black
oil, olive, salad or cooking
spices, garlic powder
crustaceans, shrimp, raw (not previously frozen)
Directions:
Boil pasta according to package directions.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
Whisk in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
SLOWLY add in milk, stirring until smooth.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in cheese, salt and pepper to taste.
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Add shrimp and cook until pink.
Do not overcook.
Add shrimp to alfredo sauce and serve over pasta.
