Lentil Dahl
1 yam, cubed
2 tablespoons further-virgin olive oil
1 weighty onion, chopped
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
4 dried crimson chillies
1 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 cups cooked lentils (or 2 very low cans, rinsed)
½ teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon Celtic sea salt new cilantro (if chosen)
½ cup water
Within just a medium to massive pot, boil the cubed yam within water until eventually smooth. Pour off more water, leaving sufficient to mash the yam with a hand blender till delicate. Inside of a frying pan, cook the onion, mustard seeds, chillies, ginger, and garlic inside of the olive oil above lower warm until eventually the onion is clear. Increase the onion blend to the mashed yam. Then include the lentils, turmeric, Celtic sea salt and ½ cup water. Stir alongside one another. Permit the combination simmer earlier mentioned reduced warmth until eventually warmed and the flavours mingle. Provide inside bowls with new cilantro as a garnish.
