Nutty Wheat Crackers
Ingredients:
seeds, sunflower seed kernels, dried
butter, without salt
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
cereals, oats, regular and quick, unenriched, cooked with water (includes boiling and microwaving), without salt
honey
water, bottled, generic
Directions:
In a blender, grind the sunflower seeds until smooth.
Place the sunflower puree and the butter in a medium bowl and cream together until smooth.
Add the flour, bran, honey and water and stir until well blended.
Form the dough into a ball, place it on a large sheet of waxed paper and shape it into a log.
Wrap waxed paper tightly around the dough and chill for 4-6 hours or overnight.
With a serrated knife, slice the dough into 1/4" rounds.
Place the rounds on solid fruit roll sheets positioned on dehydrator trays.
Dry at 145F for 4-6 hours or until firm and crisp.
Store in an air-tight container.
