Baked Tofu Szechuan Style Recipe
Ingredients:
soy sauce made from soy (tamari)
oil, sesame, salad or cooking
oil, olive, salad or cooking
spices, ginger, ground
tofu, raw, regular, prepared with calcium sulfate
spices, garlic powder
peanut butter, smooth style, without salt
rice, white, long-grain, regular, unenriched, cooked without salt
Directions:
In a medium-size bowl, combine the marinade ingredients.
Gently stir in the tofu and coat well.
Let marinate for 30 min, or possibly up to 8 hrs.
Cover and refrigerateif longer than 30 min.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Pour the tofu and its marinade into a shallow baking dish in one layer.
Bake for 15 min, tossing once with a spatula.
Combine the sauce ingredients and pour over the tofu.
Toss to coat proportionately.
Return to the oven and bake 10 more min, or possibly till golden.
Let sit 10 min before serving; it should be served hot, not piping warm.
