Outrageously good chicken potpie
Ingredients:
butter, without salt
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
salt, table
onions, raw
soup, chicken broth or bouillon, dry
spices, pepper, black
chicken, broiler or fryers, breast, skinless, boneless, meat only, raw
shortening, vegetable, household, composite
cheese, cheddar
Directions:
In a large sucepan melt butter and stir in flour,cook until smooth and bubbly.
Gradually add milk/broth stirring constantly until it boils and thickens.
Remove from heat, stir in salt, pepper, onion, poultry seasoning, chicken, veggies and some of the cheese.
Place bottom pie crust into glass pie pan and press into place
Pour filling mixture into bottom crust and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Cover with top crust and crimp sides well.
Make sure to cut several slits in top crust before baking
Place into a preheated 400 deg oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until top is golden brown
Let stand and cool 10-15 minutes before serving to let it firm up
