Sour Shortening

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, softened
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 large egg

Directions:
Beat batter with electric mixer on high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl a
few times. Stir the chopped cookies into batter. Spread batter in pan.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in
center. Adult help: Cool cake in pan 10 minutes, then remove from pan to
wire rack. Cool completely.
Frost cake with:
Sweetened Whipped Cream (see recipe)
If you like, decorate cake with more cookies.
