Broiled New York Strip Steak with Herb Butter
Look for meat with a lot of marbling, so it has a good fat content.
Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients:
New York strip steaks
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Herb Butter, softened
Rub:
Brown sugar
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Sea salt
Paprika
Thyme
Black pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 500°F or set it to broil.
2. For the rub, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, paprika, thyme and black pepper in a small bowl.
3. Arrange the steaks on a large sheet pan. Season each steak on both sides with some of the rub.
4. Rub each steak with the garlic and olive oil. Bake or broil about 4 minutes per side, until nicely charred on both sides.
5. Top the steaks with a little Herb Butter and return to the oven 3 minutes, or until they reach the desired doneness.
