Ingredients:
2 handfuls of fresh basil leaves, packed
½ cup olive oil
1 small handful of pine nuts or walnuts
3 medium sized garlic gloves minced (or use 2-3 spoonful’s of already minced garlic)
Sea salt / Real salt and pepper to taste
Kitchen Items Required:
Blender / Magic Bullet
This is a great job for the magic bullet because it is smaller and requires less
cleaning effort.

Other Options to Consider: Mix up the type of oil you use to give this dip a different
flavor – avocado oil, hemp oil, flax seed oil, sesame oil just to name a few.
Steps:
1. Put all ingredients in a blender and mix until you get a smooth cream.
2. Add salt and pepper to taste and blend again.
3. Pour into bowl or on top of pasta and enjoy!
Sunflower Pesto Recipe
This is a great recipe if you are allergic to nuts. Sunflower seeds are such a great
alternative and a great source of good fat and protein. They even make sunflower butters
for spreading on bread so you can avoid the nut allergy issue. When purchasing the
sunflower seeds for this recipe make sure you are buying them raw and shelled. They
should not be roasted or salted.
Prep Time: 4 hour soak of seeds, 5 minutes to prepare and blend.
