Dads Peanut Butter Brittle
Ingredients:
sugars, granulated
syrups, corn, light
salt, table
water, bottled, generic
oil, corn, peanut, and olive
butter, without salt
leavening agents, baking soda
Directions:
1.
Generously grease a large rimmed cookie sheet and set aside.
2.
In a large saucepan (with candy thermometer clipped to the side), over medium heat, bring to a boil the sugar, corn syrup, salt and water.
Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Stir in peanuts.
Stir frequently until temperature reaches 300 F (150 C) on your candy thermometer, or until a small amount of mixture dropped into a cup of very cold water separates into hard and brittle threads.
(I did this second method) 3.
Remove from heat.
Immediately stir in butter and baking soda, pour at once onto the cookie sheet and smooth it out quickly.
Let cool.
Break candy into pieces.
