Mom's Date Pudding Cake
Ingredients:
sugars, granulated
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
salt, table
dates, deglet noor
nuts, walnuts, english
vanilla extract
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
sugars, brown
water, bottled, generic
butter, without salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Grease one 9x13 inch baking pan.
Combine the sugar, flour, milk, salt, dates, nut, vanilla and baking powder and mix well.
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
In a saucepan over medium heat combine the brown sugar, water and butter or margarine and bring to boil.
Pour brown sugar mixture over batter.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minute or until the cake tests done.
Serve warm with whipped cream.
