Chocolate Chip Shortbread

Ingredients:
butter, salted
sugars, powdered
cornstarch
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
spartan, real semi-sweet chocolate baking chips,

Directions:
Line 2 large rimless baking sheets with parchment paper or leave ungreased; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, icing sugar and cornstarch until well blended.
Mix in the flour, 1/2 cup at a time.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop the batter by scant tablespoons about 1" apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake in the centre of a 300 degree F oven until firm and light golden on the bottom, about 30 minutes.
Let cool on the pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then transfer to racks to cool.
