Soda Bread
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
leavening agents, baking soda
salt, table
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat
Directions:
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6|200C
Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
Mix the buttermilk into the dry ingredients to make a sticky dough
Turn mixture out onto a lightly floured surface and form a ball.
Don't knead it.
Place ball onto a baking tray with baking parchment on it and press down slightly to flatten it
Mark it into quarters cutting deep but not all the way through.
Dust with flour
Bake for 30 mins or until golden brown and when tapped on base it should sound hollow
leave it to cool on wire rack
