Cheddar Pan Biscuits

Ingredients:
butter, without salt
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
cheese, cheddar
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
sugars, granulated
spices, basil, dried
salt, table
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d

Directions:
Heat oven to 400F.
Melt butter in 8-inch square baking pan in oven.
Remove from oven; set aside.
Combine all remaining ingredients except milk in bowl.
Stir in milk just until moistened.
Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; knead 1 minute or until smooth.
Pat or roll dough into 12x6-inch rectangle.
Cut into 12 (1-inch) strips.
Dip each strip into melted butter in pan; fold each strip in half.
Return folded strips to pan, arranging in 2 rows.
Bake 23-28 minutes or until lightly browned.
Serve warm.
