Chocolate and Ginger Cookies
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
salt, table
sugars, powdered
cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened
spices, ginger, ground
spices, cloves, ground
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
leavening agents, baking soda
butter, without salt
syrup, maple, canadian
Directions:
1.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C (390 degrees F) and prepare 2 large baking trays.
2.
Put flour, salt, sugar, cocoa powder, ground ginger, ground cloves, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) in a food processor.
Add butter and blitz until it resembles bread crumbs.
Transfer to a bowl.
3.
Gently warm golden syrup in a pan, then add to mixture in bowl and stir until a dough is formed.
4.
Divide dough into 16 small balls (walnut-shaped) and place at least 2cm (about 1 inch) apart on the baking trays and then flatten slightly.
5.
Bake for 810 minutes.
Cool on the trays before transferring to a wire rack.
