Watermelon Sorbet
Ingredients:
watermelon, raw
lemon juice, raw
sugars, granulated
water, bottled, generic
Directions:
In a blender, combine watermelon, lemon juice and simple syrup, and blend until smooth.
Pour mixture into the container of an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
Variation: For Watermelon Mint Sorbet, add 2 tablespoons minced fresh mint just before churning.
SIMPLE SYRUP.
Makes about 1 cup.
Note: Make sure that the syrup is well-chilled before using.
Can be kept up to 2 months in refrigerator.
1 cup sugar.
1 cup water.
Directions.
Place sugar and water in a small saucepan.
Bring to a simmer, over medium-high, stirring until sugar is dissolved, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate in sealed jar.
