Mom's Buttermilk Biscuit Topping Recipe

Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
sugars, granulated
salt, table
butter, without salt
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat

Directions:
Stir the flour, sugar, and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
Add the butter and use a pastry blender or 2 knives to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles the texture of cornmeal.
Pour in the cold buttermilk and stir until the dough just comes together.
Turn the dough out onto your work surface and bring it together with your hands, kneading it lightly to form a ball.
Lightly dust your work surface and a rolling pin with flour and roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thick.
