Holland Spice Cookies

Ingredients:
butter, without salt
lard
sugars, brown
cream, sour, cultured
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
spices, cinnamon, ground
salt, table
leavening agents, baking soda
spices, nutmeg, ground
spices, cloves, ground
nuts, walnuts, english

Directions:
Cream together butter, lard, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in sour cream.
Sift together flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, and cloves.
Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well with a spoon.
Stir in walnuts.
Cover and chill 1 hour in refrigerator.
Shape dough into four 6 inch rolls.
Chill in refrigerator overnight.
Cut rolls into 1/4 inch slices.
Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
Bake in 350F (180C) F oven 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from baking sheets; cool on racks.
