Enchilada Sauce
Ingredients:
oil, olive, salad or cooking
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
spices, chili powder
tomato sauce, canned, no salt added
water, bottled, generic
spices, garlic powder
salt, table
spices, cumin seed
salt, table
Directions:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Stir in flour and chili powder.
Reduce heat to medium and cook until lightly browned, stirring constantly to prevent flour from burning.
Gradually stir in tomato sauce, water, cumin, garlic powder, and onion salt.
Stir until smooth.
Continue cooking over medium heat, approximately ten minutes, or until slightly thickened.
Season with salt to taste.
