Caramel Frosting
Ingredients:
margarine, regular, 80% fat, composite, stick, without salt
sugars, brown
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
sugars, powdered
Directions:
Melt margarine in saucepan over low heat.
Add brown sugar.
Cook and stir lover low heat for 2 minutes.
Stir in 1/4 cup milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat.
Cool to lukewarm, or until the hand can be held comfortably on the bottom of the pan.
Stir in powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time.
Beat until smooth and creamy.
If frosting becomes too thick to spread easily, beat in a little milk, about 2 teaspoons at a time.
