Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
leavening agents, baking soda
salt, table
butter, without salt
egg substitute, powder
vanilla extract
sugars, brown
spartan, real semi-sweet chocolate baking chips,
nuts, walnuts, english
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 13x9 baking pan.
Combine flour with baking soda and salt in medium bowl.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar; add the egg substitute and the vanilla to the butter/sugar mixture, beating well.
Stir the flour mixture into the wet mixture until blended; stir in 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
Spread mixture into the greased baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over the top; cover with foil (to hold in heat) for about 2 minutes, until the chocolate is soft and spreadable.
Spread chocolate over the surface of the bars and sprinkle with the chopped nuts.
Let cool completely, then cut into 36 bars before cooling.
