Crumb Shortcake

Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
sugars, granulated
cream, whipped, cream topping, pressurized
butter, without salt
milk, buttermilk, fluid, cultured, lowfat
leavening agents, baking soda
vanilla extract

Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients and mix together like a pie dough until crumbly.
Set aside 3/4 cup of the crumbs mixture.
Add buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla extract to the remaining crumbs.
Pour into a greased 8x8 inch pan.
Sprinkle with reserved crumbs on top.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until done.
Serve with strawberries or other seasonal fruit.
Also great served with ice cream.
