WASSAIL
2 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/3 cups lemon juice
6 cinnamon sticks
12 complete cloves
12 complete allspice
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 fifths dry sherry
1. Level apple cider, brown sugar, lemon juice, and all spices inside of a pot.
2. Deliver to a boil.
3. Address and simmer for 20 minutes.
4. Remove spices against blend.
5. Increase sherry.
6. Warm until finally merely underneath boiling.
7. Fill a punch bowl with boiling water.
8. Enable stand for one instant to warm bowl.
9. Pour water out of punch bowl.
10. Pour wassail mix in opposition to stove to punch bowl.
11. Garnish with orange or lemon slices studded with cloves.
