Vickys Cheese Straws, Gluten, Dairy, Egg & Soy-Free
Ingredients:
rice flour, white, unenriched
cornstarch
sorghum flour, refined, unenriched
cornmeal, degermed, unenriched, yellow
salt, table
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
spices, paprika
spices, pepper, red or cayenne
butter, without salt
cheese, parmesan, hard
Directions:
Preheat the oven to gas 6 / 2000C / 400F and line a baking sheet
Mix the flour, starches and other dry ingredients together
Add the butter and cheese and mix by hand to form a dough
Break pieces off and roll into a straw shape
Place on the baking sheet and bake for around 9 - 12 minutes or until lightly golden
You can form balls and flatten them too.
Give them an extra few minutes to bake
Let cool on a wire rack once firmed up enough to move them
Best eaten the same day.
Dough can be frozen.
The baked cheese straws/biscuits can be firmed up again with a few minutes back in the oven at the same temp
