Cornmeal Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
cornmeal, degermed, unenriched, yellow
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
sugars, granulated
salt, table
butter, without salt
cheese, cheddar
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Cut in butter until mixture is coarse and crumbly.
Stir in cheese and milk just until moistened.
Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm with butter.
