Traditional Biscuits
Ingredients:
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
salt, table
sugars, granulated
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
shortening, vegetable, household, composite
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
Make a well in the flour mix and add the milk.
Add shortening to the flour/mil mixture until thoroughly mixed.
Turn onto floured surface, and knead gently 6 to 8 times.
Pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into biscuits.
Place on baking sheet and cook for 10-13 minutes.
