Classic and Delicious Peach Cobbler
Ingredients:
peaches, yellow, raw
sugars, brown
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
water, bottled, generic
lemon juice, raw
butter, without salt
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
sugars, granulated
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
salt, table
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
butter, without salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a glass 8X8-inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside (if using an aluminum baking pan, bake at 350 degrees F).
In a medium bowl, combine peaches, brown sugar, and flour and mix.
Add water and lemon juice and stir to combine.
Pour mixture into the prepared pan.
Dot with butter.
For the topping, in the same bowl (make sure its scraped clean, no need to wash) or in another medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the milk and melted butter.
Stir just until combined.
Dont overmix; its ok if its a little lumpy.
Dollop the topping by spoonfuls over the peaches.
Bake for 4045 minutes until the topping is set and baked through and the filling is bubbly.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving warm with vanilla ice cream (this is delicious served at room temperature, too).
Inspired by a recipe from my sisters sweet neighbor, Debbie.
