Cafeteria Cole Slaw
Cafeteria Cole Slaw
Makes 6 - 8 servings
Ingredients:
Cabbage
Sugar
Cider vinegar
Salt
Mayonnaise
Directions:
1. Take off outer leaves of cabbage.
2. Core cabbage and cut cabbage into narrow wedges, then slice wedges into thin strips.
3. Place strips into a large bowl.
4. Add sugar and salt, mix well.
5. Let stand at room temperature for 10 - 15 minutes.
6. Add vinegar, and mayonnaise, mix.
7. Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of four hours.
Note:
Can add any of the following to the cole slaw: celery seeds, shredded carrots, green pepper, raisins, chopped apples, red cabbage, nuts, pineapple, etc.
