Anzac Cookies

Ingredients:
oats
shortening confectionery, coconut (hydrogenated) and or palm kernel (hydrogenated)
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
sugars, granulated
salt, table
butter, without salt
syrup, maple, canadian
leavening agents, baking soda
water, bottled, generic

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a few baking sheets.
Mix the oats, coconut, flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
Then melt the butter in a small pan and stir in the golden syrup.
Add the baking soda to the boiling water and stir this into the golden syrup mixture.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the golden syrup mixture.
Stir well.
Place tablespoons of dough on baking sheets, at least one inch apart.
Bake 10 minutes until golden brown.
Set to cool on cooling racks.
