Vodka-Based Umeshu - Make Umeshu Abroad

Ingredients:
plums, raw
sugars, granulated
alcoholic beverage, distilled, vodka, 80 proof

Directions:
I used rock sugar bought at a Chinese food specialty shop and 40 proof vodka.
The plums were sold as "young plums."
I found them at a Middle Eastern food grocery.
Boil and dry your container to sterilize.
Another way to sterilize is to put a little water in your container, and boil it for 30 seconds to 1 minute in the microwave.
Rinse the plums well and let sit in water for 2 to 3 hours, then pierce with holes.
If the stem remain, use a toothpick to remove them.
Add plums and rock sugar in layers, and then fill with vodka.
You can drink it after around 3 months, but after about half a year, it will mature and be ready to serve.
