Maple Dumplings
Ingredients:
syrup, maple, canadian
water, bottled, generic
wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
leavening agents, baking powder, double-acting, sodium aluminum sulfate
salt, table
butter, without salt
milk, fluid, 1% fat, without added vitamin a and vitamin d
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients - cut in butter with a knife until the butter is the size of peas, mix in the milk gently to obtain a soft batter (not runny) do not overmix.
Mix maple syrup and water in a pot that has a lid.
Bring to a boil.
Cook on low heat for about 5 minutes.
(you can mix the dry ingredients while this is cooking).
Place tablespoon full of batter one at a time in the boiling syrup, cover, let simmer 15 minutes without lifting the cover.
Serve immediately.
