Almond Joy Candy Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
milk, canned, condensed, sweetened
vanilla extract
sugars, powdered
shortening confectionery, coconut (hydrogenated) and or palm kernel (hydrogenated)
spartan, real semi-sweet chocolate baking chips,
nuts, almonds
Directions:
Blend the condensed lowfat milk and vanilla.
Add in the powdered sugar to the above mix a little at a time, stirring till smooth.
Stir in the coconut.
The mix should be hard.
Pat the mix firmly into a greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan.
Refrigeratein the refrigerator till hard.
In a double boiler over warm, not boiling water, heat the chocolate, stirring often.
You may also use a microwave.
Remove the coconut mix from the refrigerator and cut it into 1 x 2 inch bars.
Put 2 whole almonds atop each bar.
Set each coconut bar onto a fork and dip it into the chocolate.
Tap the fork against the side of the pan or possibly bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
Air dry at room temperature on waxed paper for several hrs.
You may speed up the process by putting in the refrigerator for 30 min.
